James Soliz

Safety Manager

Staples has, from inception, put the highest value on safety. Our industry has shown marked improvement in safety awareness, but every project needs a watchful eye to keep risks at bay. This is why we have James.

James is our dedicated Safety Manager. In this role, he oversees all safety procedures for all projects company-wide and coordinates with every project team before and during construction, promoting & enforcing safety among teams. It’s his job to protect every contractor from injury, to increase overall safety awareness among teams, and ensure Staples’ compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.

Behind the scenes, he works with our Directors of Construction and General Superintendents to promote the best safety procedures. In the field, he works with Project Superintendents on safety enforcement, on-site audits, and contractor training. To say James has a “watchful eye” is an understatement. Assessing risk, identifying problems before they surface, training for the safest behaviors…we could not ask for a sharper focus. Before joining Staples Construction, he served as a Hospital Corpsman in the U.S. Navy for 15 years, earning multiple commendations & medals before transitioning to managerial & safety roles for The Home Depot and MRC, Inc.
