The 2300 Wilshire Boulevard project, located in Santa Monica, CA consisted of the ground-up construction of a 158,940 sq. ft mixed-use apartment building. This 30-unit building is comprised of two levels of subterranean parking, ground floor retail and two floors of high-end apartments. The project was set on a 40,643 sq. ft site and was designed to encompass the entire site (zero lot line). Temporary solider piles and lagging shoring with a combination of tie-backs and rakers were used to excavate the 38’ deep basement. The building is comprised of type-I and type-V construction with an exterior façade of curtain walls, stucco, brick rain screen, and decorative steel elements.
